As we step into a brand new year new opportunities, I wanted to share a couple of thoughts that might spark some inspiration for you.

Rather than diving into the usual goal-setting talk, let’s focus on two crucial aspects that can make a significant impact on your career.

Firstly, have you thought about your networking game lately? Now’s the perfect time to dust off those LinkedIn connections.

Challenge yourself to reconnect with ten people you haven’t spoken to in a while.   A simple message to say hello and wish them well can open doors to valuable conversations.

Building and maintaining your network is like an investment – you might not need it now, but it could be a game-changer down the road.

I also want to point out a perception many professionals in mid-to-late career face. The older worker lacks drive, resist change, and won’t adapt to new skills.

However, a study revealed the only valid concern was a resistance to learning new things.

So, I encourage you to embrace the opportunity to learn and grow this next year.

Online platforms like LinkedIn Learning offer a treasure trove of courses across various fields.

Whether it’s brushing up on work-related skills or exploring something purely for your enjoyment, learning fosters a growth mindset.
