Today’s video is about a client I worked with during my time with a career transition company.
We spent a good three months together working on his resume, LinkedIn, job search strategies.
After we finished, the client received a survey from the career transition company regarding his experience.
They wanted to know how he felt about working with me, the resources they offered, and how his former company handled the termination.
But here’s the twist—he not only trashed the career transition company, he gave a very poor review of his prior company and his boss.
My scores were just okay, but nothing special.
So, I checked his history and discovered out he never used any of the resources available to him.
He was carrying a lot of bitterness from losing his job.
I’ve been in tough spots too, like in 2008 during the recession when I had to let go of some team members.
Navigating career challenges like layoffs and reduction in workforces can be difficult. But you can’t let bitterness take over.
It can sneak into job interviews and mess things up.
Losing a job stinks, but it’s not about you personally.
It’s often just a business decision.
