A few years ago, I got an email from a client who wanted to have a coaching call with me. In her email she wrote she was facing a unique problem.
Without going into details, she said she had a very poor reputation,
My curiosity was piqued, so I decided to do a quick Google search on her unique name.
Lo and behold, her entire first page on Google was filled with details of a past court case.
Although there was no criminal conviction, it portrayed her in a negative light.
This got me thinking about how important our online reputation is.
Employers are paying more attention to it than ever.
In 2020, CareerBuilder reported that 54% of employers rejected candidates based on their social media.
PR Newswire revealed that 79% of businesses did the same, and 90% of employers considered applicants’ social media activity during the hiring process.
