Mastering non-verbal communication is crucial when you are in career transition.
Why you may ask?
For starters, 93% of our communication is non-verbal?
Crazy, right?
But this is what the research shows.
In my latest video, I share six game-changing tips to help you ace that interview using the power of body language.
- Stand Tall:When you first meet someone, the way you stand up matters. Open up a bit, shoulders back, and stand tall. It exudes confidence.
- Eye Contact:While eye contact is crucial, avoid the death stare. Break it periodically to avoid coming off as intimidating.
- Keep it Simple:Bring just one item into the interview. It shows organization and avoids the perception of being disorganized.
- Dress for Success:Dress one level up from the expected dress code. Check out the company’s vibe on Glassdoor and mirror the hiring manager’s style on the second interview.
- Smile Smartly:Smile, but not too much. Too much smiling might make you seem less serious or even incompetent. Find the right balance.
- Sit Smart:Avoid sitting directly in front of the interviewer. Angle yourself a bit to build rapport.
