I have a quick video today that I think you will find interesting that is all about Finding Your Encore Career.
Especially if you’re in the mid-to-late stages of your career.
So, here’s the question: Have you ever thought about an Encore career?
Something different from what you’ve been doing for years.
A final career move – something you are very passionate about.
Did you know 40% of the workforce over the age of 62, made a major career shift after the age of 55?
Let me share a couple of stories with you.
One of my friends recently discovered his love for sailing when he went on a trip with his son.
Now, he’s taking sailing lessons to pilot and sail large catamarans with a plan to make his passion into a business when he retires.
Another client of mine, who spent over 30 years at Intel, is pursuing her dream of becoming a floral designer.
It might sound daunting, but it’s possible to switch careers, even when your resume doesn’t seem to match.
I went from a VP in technology to career coaching.
It’s not just about your skills; it’s about your passion and desire.
Think about what truly makes you happy.
Once you’ve figured that out, create a strategy.
My friend had to take over a year of sailing lessons. The floral designer client went back to school for a certification. I did an 18-month training program to become a certified and credentialed coach.
It takes time and effort, but it’s worth it.
Here is the video.
I hope you find it inspirational.
