In this video, I take you behind the scenes of career coaching.

Let me begin by saying, I love career coaching.

When I can see I’ve made a difference in somebody else’s life.   If I’ve helped them secure a position, it is one of the greatest feelings.

And this is what makes my day.

For me, I never experienced such rewards in my corporate roles.

But I’m going to tell you a little secret.

Some days, career coaching can suck.

For example, working with a client for several months and watching two expected job offers fall apart at the last minute.

This is what happened recently and the topic of this week’s video.

When something bad happens, remember these three words:

Can’t change it.

If you’ve been denied a position or been said no to a position you thought was going to happen.

Can’t change it.

If you get into a car accident.

Can’t change it.

You can change how you respond to something, but you can’t change what has happened.

This is an important distinction.
