I took your Finding a Job That Fuels Your Passion course, including a coaching session, during the winter. I want to share my success in finding a job.
I was looking for Director of Curriculum and Instruction jobs or something on the curriculum side of school administration in California.
After revising my resume according to your principles and preparing for interviews using your format for answering common questions, I began applying for jobs.
I ended up applying for 12 jobs that were directly or somewhat related to my goal job. I had 3 first round interviews where I didn’t move on.
Somewhat discouraged, I kept applying, and near the end of the hiring season for school administration, I landed a job as Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Lancaster School District in northern Los Angeles County.
It is a step below my current job and has fewer workdays.
At this point in my career (69 years old and 46 years in public education), I am glad to have less responsibility and more time off.
The location is less than ideal–in the desert–but I can still see family on weekends.
I am delighted to have the job and will be moving from Washington Stare to CA in a couple of weeks. I credit the wisdom you shared both in your course and in the coaching session with helping me overcome the age barrier and land a job. Thank you so much for your help!

I was fortunate to come across your mentoring and coaching platform a few months ago and wanted to thank you for posting such valuable information.
Your videos gave me insights that enabled me to give prospective employers reasons to hire me by focusing on the positives and in particular by creating the tailored pitch you suggested we use in our resume, or at an interview, that describes in one sentence what you do and what you are.
Having been made redundant last August and unsure what the future held, you made me realize that at 57 I could be viewed as too old for employment by many organizations, despite being well-sited and qualified for the jobs I was applying for, but there were ways to combat this.
By using this powerful pitch to overcome any age-related rejection I am now enjoying my time at a great company having made it to the top of the 160 applications for the role.

Bill’s thoughtful questions, expert guidance, and wise assessment has assisted me in re-identifying my professional goals and in finding the path to pursue them. I came to him not sure how the coaching sessions would progress. However after working together in the last few months I am now able to see different career possibilities and to strategize on how to get there. Bill has the knowledge, based on years of experience, of how to re-direct your career regardless of age and informs you of the tools (both tangible and intangible) that are needed to do so. His coaching style is warm, direct, encouraging, and honest. Bill has helped propel me forward in a meaningful and impactful way. It was exactly the push I needed.

I am so pleased with the help Bill Benoist provided to me. Within my few months working with him, I secured the perfect job for my skill set As a person who wanted to make a job switch late in my career, I engaged Bill to look with professional eyes at my resume and my Linked In profile. His suggestions were spot-on and I went into interviews prepared and confident. Bill’s coaching was thorough and informed. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who wants to have someone take their career seriously. Bill didn’t guarantee me a job – but he did guarantee to give me my money’s worth – and I can say he absolutely did.

I am currently at a crossroad with making some major changes in my life. I have reached out to Bill because of his clear expertise and experience in career coaching. Each of the ongoing coaching sessions have been well structured with clear aims and objectives set out. Bill has an amazing wealth of knowledge which he willingly shares. Bill is also extremely resourceful and is also teaching me to tap into my own resources. He is friendly and extremely professional and I feel very confident knowing he will help me get on the right track in finding the career of my dreams as well as help bring a positive perspective back into my life. Working as a client with Bill as my career coach has allowed me to feel at ease and has given me a much needed boost of confidence.

I worked with Bill for 12 weeks, and through his coaching, I was successfully able to get my foot in the door to my all-time-top-choice dream organization within the federal government. His support and guidance made it possible for me to look at where I wanted to go, and create a strategy to get there. I credit him for helping me get focused and prepared. Bill has an internal/external approach to consulting that I found to be very effective. We talked about what was going on with my outlook and attitude, but we also covered the mechanics like writing better cover letters and preparing for upcoming interviews. Looking at the job search holistically helped me immensely to get where I needed to go. I highly recommend Bill as a job coach that can get results.

Bill is top of his game when it comes to helping you clarify your thoughts and setting course for your life and/or business. Bill has helped me tremendously when it came to getting clarity on my business ideas, goals and execution plan. He always had fundamentally sound advice for me along with innovative ideas that were cutting edge and forward thinking. Bill helped me focus on the important/urgent, not the distractions. Thank you Bill for your guidance, thought provoking questions, mentorship, kindness and most of all your heart felt passion you had for my growth, both personal and business. I recommend Bill for anyone looking to focus their ideas and get on their own personal power path with a coach who knows his stuff and has a vested interest in you being your best.

I have been coaching with Bill for almost a year now and have found his help and guidance invaluable. Bill has not only supported me through a challenging time but has been instrumental in boosting my self confidence and belief in myself. I am moving forward to a new career and building a business which i am passionate about and Bill has been there every step of the way. Whatever doubts i had, whatever issues i raised, Bill found a way to work with me to find the reasons beneath the problems and then take steps to break down those barriers. Bill has so much to offer in terms of work/life experience and he uses that to the advantage of his clients. I would highly recommend Bill as a Coach to anyone looking to make changes in their life and needing a professional, dynamic person to take the journey with them.

Working with Bill was absolutely fantastic. Our coaching sessions were an hour that I looked forward to every week. His own professional and leadership experience provided a great background for him to help me explore a new perspective in my own career development. But what’s more, his natural enthusiasm made it impossible for me to leave our sessions in anything but a better and more energized mood than when we began. He makes it easy to talk about anything that’s on your mind and provides just the right amount of encouragement and accountability to keep you moving forward towards your goals in a measurable way.

Some say a doctor makes the worst patient, and a teacher makes the worst student…and coaches make the worst clients!
Fortunately, Bill guided me to insights into my coaching style, helped me craft my business model, and gave me the motivation I needed when I forgot my way. I’ve yet to meet a more caring, inspiring, insightful coach AND mentor. More importantly, Bill gave me the questions I should ask myself…rather than just creating a dependence on his wisdom, he gave me the keys to my own. Thank you, Bill, for being a great coach, mentor, and – above all – friend.

As a coach Bill Benoist practices active listening skills and asks questions to clarify understanding of my thoughts. I am a random thinker and Bill is always able to keep up with me and focus on the important information I am sharing. He is a compassionate person and this quality is demonstrated through his coaching. He listens and asks insightful questions to really get down to the heart of the matter. As a technological guru, Bill offers added value to me – a small business owner challenged by WordPress. Bill’s experience, knowledge and skills provide him with the tools needed to be an exceptional leadership coach.
